Female Coder At Table During Class

Unlock Your Potential

In an inclusive environment unlike the typical tech classroom, we upend traditional methods of teaching code, building networks, and defining ‘success.’ And we never lose sight of our larger ambition: a tech industry evolved; its coders more diverse and compassionate; and an equitable, representative world wide web.

Collaboration is in Our Source Code

Being a successful developer requires many other skills beyond understanding programming languages. Our classroom is designed to help you work and collaborate with your classmates, just as if you were on a professional development team. You will ‘drive’ and ‘navigate’ with partners during Pair Programming, build teamwork and project management skills during your Capstone project, and understand how to comment code so others can pick up where you left off.

CEO at ThoughtSTEM

I went to LEARN academy in January of 2018 to study full-stack web development. I did almost all the prep-work, and by week 8 of the program I was putting in at least 15 hours a week outside of class. Nearly every week there was an evening event to attend to learn more about development. Sometime around week 7 some classmates and I attended and placed in a 12 hour Saturday hackathon. By week 11 I had an opportunity for a part-time remote job doing front-end web development but decided to turn it down to focus on my internship at…read more

Junior Software Engineer at Kitu Systems

LEARN did require quite a bit of self-study outside of the classroom, but they gave a good foundation for learning to code. The guaranteed 1-month internship was invaluable, as it gave me great real-world experience that led to a full time position immediately after. Although I transitioned into design, I still use the fundamentals of code I learned at LEARN to communicate with developers every day. It’s a huge reason why I was able to successfully break into tech.
